Personal Observation: |
The observation I made from this article is just how important music and dancing is to the Barbados culture. The music and dancing takes them back to where it all began and truly shows the historical influence made by British colonization or by the spread of folk music. I personally understand the powerful connection one can have with music, but this sort of connection by a whole culture is truly inspiring. The music and dancing seems like it would be so beautiful that I want to see and hear the performance with my own two eyes and ears, it really makes me wish that I could visit Barbados.

Cultural Ties: |
Music and dancing is obviously essential to the cultural identity of the people of Barbados. The music and dancing is performed at yearly festivals where people dress up and have a great time making sure it remains apart of their lives. The children are encouraged to participate as well! The people truly try to stay connected to this part of their culture. Even the international pop singer Rihanna goes back to visit her country and party in the Barbados Carnival Festival, because it is just that amazing.
